Getting Started with Launcher

The Launcher App is the central navigation hub for FlowState, providing quick access to all registered applications in the ecosystem.

Prerequisites

Before using the Launcher App, ensure you have:

  • FlowState installed and running (either Next.js web or Electron desktop)
  • An active organization and workspace configured
  • Network connectivity for server features (optional for local-only mode)

Accessing the App

The Launcher is the default home screen for FlowState. You can access it in several ways:

  1. Automatic: Opens when you launch FlowState
  2. Keyboard Shortcut: Press Cmd+Shift+H (macOS) or Ctrl+Shift+H (Windows/Linux) from any app
  3. Direct URL: Navigate to / (root route)

Accessing the Launcher

Initial Setup

Step 1: Review Your Organization Context

When you first open the Launcher, check the status bar at the top of the screen:

  • Mode: Shows whether you're in local or remote mode
  • Servers: Displays the number of connected servers
  • Organization: Shows your current organization name

Step 2: Select Organization and Workspace

If you belong to multiple organizations or workspaces:

  1. Locate the Organization/Workspace Selector below the status bar
  2. Click to open the dropdown menu
  3. Select your desired organization
  4. Choose the appropriate workspace

Your selection persists across sessions.

Step 3: Explore Available Apps

The main area displays a grid of application cards:

  • Each card shows the app's icon with a branded color
  • The app name is displayed prominently
  • A brief description explains the app's purpose
  • Click any card to navigate directly to that application
