Getting Started with Projects App
This guide will help you get up and running with the Projects App, FlowState's core project and task management application.
Prerequisites
Before using the Projects App, ensure you have:
- Access to a FlowState workspace
- An active user account with appropriate permissions
- A modern web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge)
Accessing the App
- Navigate to the FlowState app launcher
- Click on Projects (folder-kanban icon)
- You'll be directed to the Projects Dashboard

Alternatively, you can access the app directly at:
/projects/dashboard
Initial Setup
Step 1: Understand the Navigation
The Projects App uses a hierarchical navigation structure:

Step 2: Explore the Dashboard
The Dashboard provides a central hub for all your project activities:
- Projects Tab - View all projects with status and progress
- Milestones Tab - See upcoming milestones across projects
- Tasks Tab - Quick access to tasks requiring attention
- Statistics - Overview of time tracked and completion rates

Step 3: Configure Your View Scope
In the My Day section, you can configure your view scope:
- Click the scope dropdown in the header
- Select your preferred scope:
- Workspace - See items in current workspace only
- Organization - See items across the organization
- All - See all items you have access to
Your preference is saved and persists across sessions.
Keyboard Shortcuts
The Projects App supports keyboard shortcuts for power users:

Creating Your First Project
Ready to create your first project? Follow these steps:
- Click the floating action button (FAB) in the bottom-right corner, or press
Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+P - In the Quick Create modal, enter:
- Title - A descriptive name for your project
- Description - Brief overview of the project goals
- Click Save to create the project
- You'll be navigated to the project detail view

From the project detail view, you can:
- Add milestones to organize work phases
- Create tasks within milestones
- Attach documents
- Start discussions with your team

Starting Your First Timer
Time tracking is built into every task:
- Navigate to any task (from Dashboard, Tasks list, or within a Project)
- Click the play button on the task to start the timer
- The active timer appears in the header as a pill notification
- Click the timer pill to view all active timers
- Click stop to end the timer and create a time entry

- Break large projects into manageable phases (Milestones)
