Getting Started with State App

This guide walks you through the initial setup and configuration of the State App for managing your product lifecycle.

Prerequisites

Before using State App, ensure you have:

  • Access to the FlowState platform
  • Information about your company and product ready to enter
  • Understanding of your product's lifecycle phases

Accessing the App

State App is available as part of the FlowState application suite.

  1. Open the FlowState application
  2. Navigate to the app launcher
  3. Click on State App (indicated by the LayoutDashboard icon)

The app is accessible at the /state base path.

Initial Setup

Understanding the Structure

State App organizes your product lifecycle into eight sections:

Each section has:

  • A Setup Wizard for entering data
  • A Dashboard for viewing metrics and summaries

Step 1: Start with Business Planning

Begin your product lifecycle by establishing your company foundation:

  1. Navigate to Business Planning from the sidebar
  2. Click the Setup button to launch the wizard
  3. Complete each step:
    • Company Info: Enter company name, founding year, size, and industry
    • Business Type: Select your business model (B2B, B2C, B2B2C, or Marketplace)
    • Core Values: Define your mission statement and core values

Step 2: Complete Section Wizards

Progress through each section in order:

  1. Product Info - Define your product name, description, requirements, and tech stack
  2. Goals & Objectives - Set sales targets and custom metrics
  3. Design & Roadmap - Define features with priorities and milestones with due dates
  4. Development - Configure codebases, team members, and time tracking
  5. Deployment - Set up environments, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring
  6. Support - Configure support channels, issue categories, and SLAs
  7. Marketing - Define marketing channels, conversion goals, and analytics

Step 3: Track Progress on the Global Dashboard

The Global Dashboard provides an overview of your entire product lifecycle:

  1. Click Dashboard in the sidebar navigation
  2. View the overall completion percentage
  3. See summary cards for each section with key metrics
  4. Use Continue Setup to jump to the next incomplete section

Data Persistence

State App automatically saves your data to browser localStorage. Your progress persists across browser sessions on the same device.
